Nutritionist Liu Yili from the Health Division of Taiwan Adventist Hospital said that many desserts and pastries, such as mooncakes, contain an astonishing 700 or 800 calories. If one is not careful, one may consume thousands of calories in a single day, resulting in an average weight gain of 1 to 2 kilograms after the holidays, and end up with a "mooncake face" or a "big belly."

A normal woman needs about 1,800 calories a day, while a man needs 2,200 calories a day to meet basic living needs. Therefore, when it comes to snacks such as desserts and pastries, you must be particularly careful when choosing them, especially not exceeding the portion size, so as to avoid excessive calories that accumulate in the body and create a weight burden.

According to a survey conducted by the Department of Health's National Health Service, the proportion of overweight or obese adults in Taiwan is as high as 44%. Nearly 85% of the people usually eat snacks to satisfy their cravings, with biscuits and beverages being the most popular. If you add an extra 7700 calories, you will gain 1 kg more weight. Therefore, to avoid obesity, you should pay attention to healthy diet and moderate exercise, and do a good job of weight management.

Nutritionist Liu Yili said that most people have the habit of craving for food. When office workers want to eat snacks in addition to regular meals, it is best to choose snacks that are low in calories and easy to satisfy, including fruits with less sugar, or chewing sugar-free gum to satisfy their appetite, etc., in order to control calories. And you should also eat a balanced diet and maintain exercise habits so that you can maintain a good body shape.
