"Water"! Study: Drinking more water can improve test scores

I believe everyone should be familiar with the advertising slogan "Drink more water and it's okay, just drink more water if you're okay." The human body is up to 70% water, which determines the concentration of blood in our body, balances electrolytes, and maintains all physiological functions. A simple experiment in the UK recently found that drinking more water is not only okay, but can also improve test scores!

Drink more water during exams, and your grades will improve immediately!

The British National Broadcasting Station "BBC" reported on the 18th that many people will subconsciously drink water continuously in order to calm their uneasy emotions during exams, but these people may not have thought that this simple action may have a positive impact on their test scores. A survey of 447 psychology students at the University of East London found that senior students seemed to be more accustomed to wearing water into the examination room. After the test results were released, the students who drank water performed significantly better, with an average increase of 4.8% in scores.

Dr. Chris Pawson, who led the study, explained that drinking water can indeed reduce stress and anxiety, while dry mouth during an exam can easily distract people. In addition, a brain full of water can help with the transmission and circulation of information, allowing for more focused thinking, which is naturally reflected in test scores. However, he also said that larger-scale studies are needed in the future to clearly identify the correlation and causes.
