What are the main symptoms of adenomyosis?

The main symptoms of adenomyosis are as follows:

① Dysmenorrhea gradually increases: The characteristic of adenomyosis is that it is progressively aggravated, unbearable at a certain stage, and seriously affects life. In the early stage, patients may take some Fenbid or Yueshu, but as the disease progresses, general painkillers cannot relieve the pain. I have seen some patients inject painkillers before menstruation. Adenodysmenorrhea generally starts a few days before menstruation, is the most severe on the day before menstruation or the first and second days, and then gradually alleviates. The lesion continues to develop, and there is unbearable pain throughout the menstrual period.

② Increased menstrual volume: Due to uterine myometrial lesions, the contraction during menstruation is not good and the uterus will also increase, so the menstrual volume is often much more than normal, and in severe cases it can cause anemia.

③ Infertility: Combined abnormalities: Non-specific inflammation affects the pick-up and transport function of the fallopian tube, and severe adhesions can cause local mechanical blockage; a large number of cytokines affect sperm activity, follicle development and oocyte division; cyclical reactions, increased local cytokines and increased prostaglandin synthesis affect the transport function of the fallopian tube; lesions located in the uterine horns can cause interstitial obstruction of the fallopian tube; combined with uterine fibroids.

④ Decreased libido, sexual apathy, and pain during sexual intercourse: Sexual intercourse stimulates local lesions and causes pain; sexual intercourse pain makes patients psychologically and physiologically reject sexual intercourse, which manifests as decreased libido and sexual apathy.

⑤ Uterine enlargement: generally not exceeding 3 months of pregnancy; diffuse uterine enlargement is uniform spherical; the size and texture of the uterus change with the menstrual cycle, the uterus enlarges during or before and after menstruation, and then gradually shrinks; uterine enlargement exceeds 3 months of pregnancy, and the irregular surface is often accompanied by uterine fibroids.
