How to check for premature ovarian failure

How to check for premature ovarian failure?

Premature ovarian failure clinically refers to premature ovarian insufficiency, which can be detected through progesterone test, estrogen test, follicle stimulating hormone test, B-ultrasound examination, anti-Mullerian hormone test AMH test and other methods.

1. Progesterone test:

Early ovarian function does not mean that women's ovaries lose normal function before the age of 40. Progesterone test can be done under the guidance of a doctor. If they are sick, this value will drop significantly.

2. Estrogen test:

This test can help you understand changes in estrogen levels in your body. Changes in estrogen values can reflect endocrine and ovarian function to a certain extent. If early ovarian insufficiency occurs, the value will continue to drop.

3. Follicle stimulating hormone test:

Follicle-stimulating hormone is a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland that normally stimulates the production of eggs in women. The normal range for women is 4~20U/L, and illness can cause this level to rise.

4. B-ultrasound examination:

It is a more common imaging test that can clearly image the uterus, observe whether the size and shape of the uterus are abnormal, and also provide a preliminary understanding of the number of follicles. If you have early ovarian insufficiency, the ovaries are generally smaller in size, with fewer or no follicles found.

5. Anti-Mullerian hormone test AMH test:

This examination can reflect the storage status of ovarian follicles and provide corresponding basis for the diagnosis and further treatment of early ovarian insufficiency.

If a series of tests confirm that you have premature ovarian insufficiency, you can use progesterone capsules, dydrogesterone tablets, medroxyprogesterone acetate tablets and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor.
