How to best treat adenomyosis

What is the best way to treat adenomyosis?

There are many treatments for adenomyosis. Clinical decisions need to be based on the patient's age, symptoms, and fertility requirements. Both surgery and drug treatment can be chosen at the same time.

Drug treatments include:

Symptom treatment, intrauterine device pseudomenopause treatment, etc. Surgical treatment includes hysterectomy, adenomyosis and interventional treatment. Patients should choose the appropriate treatment method according to their own situation.

1. For younger patients with strong fertility requirements, if they only have dysmenorrhea symptoms, they can use analgesics such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules to relieve the pain symptomatically.

2. If the patient has menstrual disorders and heavy menstrual flow, short-acting contraceptives can be used, which can effectively relieve dysmenorrhea symptoms and regulate the patient's menstrual cycle.

3. If the patient's condition is serious and drug treatment is ineffective, the adenomyoma can be removed.

4. The patient is older and does not need to give birth. The use of a progesterone ring can slowly release progesterone in the uterine cavity. It can prevent contraception and control adenomyosis for up to 5 years. This treatment is currently very effective in conservative treatment. Of course, this also requires some conditions, that is, the uterine cavity is relatively small, usually within 9 cm.

5. If you want to keep your uterus, you can first undergo adenomyosis and plastic surgery and place an IUD, which is one of the good ways to treat adenomyosis.

6. For older patients with more severe symptoms, radical surgery, namely total hysterectomy, can be performed.

7. High-intensity focused ultrasound therapy is a non-invasive technology for the treatment of adenomyoma in recent years. It is a technology that ablates lesions by focusing on the uterus.
