What are the common causes of pelvic inflammatory disease in unmarried women?

Pelvic inflammatory disease is a very common type of gynecological inflammation. It refers to inflammation of the female reproductive organs, connective tissue around the uterus and the pelvic peritoneum. The main symptoms are lower abdominal pain, fever, increased vaginal discharge, and worsening after sexual intercourse. It is mainly caused by postpartum or miscarriage, intrauterine surgical infection, poor menstrual hygiene, etc. So what are the causes of pelvic inflammatory disease in unmarried women?

1. Bad living habits

Bathing during menstruation is a common cause. Because the resistance of menstruation decreases, the lower body is immersed in water, and the pathogenic bacteria in the water can enter the internal genitalia through the vagina. If you swim during menstruation, it is easier for the bacteria in the water to enter the vagina, and then enter the uterus and fallopian tubes to cause inflammation.

2. Appendicitis

If treatment is delayed, the appendix will become purulent and the inflammatory exudate can flow into the pelvic cavity, causing salpingitis. In patients with acute enteritis, intestinal bacteria can spread to the genitals through the lymphatic vessels, causing genital inflammation. Pulmonary tuberculosis bacteria can flow into the pelvic cavity through the blood; tuberculosis bacteria can directly invade the genitals, causing genital tuberculosis.

3. Pathogen infection

The reason why unmarried women suffer from pelvic inflammatory disease is that dirty fingers or the surface of instruments are stained with pathogenic bacteria, and may even have sexual pathogens such as gonorrhea and mycoplasma. When these dirty things are used to massage the clitoris or insert into the vagina, bacteria may be brought into the body and cause inflammation.

Most modern women are in a sedentary state, which also increases the incidence of gynecological diseases.

Unmarried women can also be infected with pelvic inflammatory disease through various factors. Unmarried women are prohibited from taking menstrual baths, promptly treat appendicitis, pay attention to vulva cleanliness, change underwear frequently, strengthen nutrition, and improve immunity.
