Early menstruation may be due to ovarian cysts

Early menstruation may be due to ovarian cysts

Nowadays, hormone health products and foods containing hormones are emerging in an endless stream, and similar news has long been common. However, when a little girl has not yet reached the developmental age and has symptoms such as breast enlargement and menstruation, parents will think of precocious puberty. However, experts say that some girls with precocious puberty are not really precocious puberty, but pseudo-precocious puberty, and the real culprit may be ovarian cysts.

It is understood that breasts are clinically divided into five stages: B1-B5. In B2, the breasts are slightly raised and the areola is slightly enlarged. In B3, the breasts are obviously raised, but the boundary with the chest wall is unclear. The nipple and areola are enlarged and darker in color, similar to the size of a steamed bun. Early breasts of precocious puberty are generally B2 or B3.

In fact, it is not uncommon for children with ovarian cysts to induce pseudo-precocious puberty in clinical practice. Some children's height and weight are not much different from those of children of the same age. There is no obvious precocious puberty, but there will be vaginal bleeding or breast lumps. Generally speaking, breast development before the age of 8 and menarche before the age of 10 in girls are called precocious puberty. Many parents find that their daughters' vaginal bleeding or breast enlargement can also cause precocious puberty in children, but ovarian cysts can also cause pseudo-precocious puberty in girls.

Trauma, foreign bodies, polyps, etc. can also induce vaginal bleeding in girls. Once a girl's vaginal bleeding is found, parents should first check whether it is caused by trauma or foreign bodies, and cannot attribute it all to precocious puberty. At the same time, it is best to go to the hospital for a clear diagnosis and symptomatic treatment. Otherwise, rushing to use drugs to treat precocious puberty will not only fail to achieve the therapeutic effect, but the side effects of the drugs may also affect the growth and development of children.
