What is good for patients with adenomyosis?

Patients with adenomyosis generally have prolonged menstruation, increased menstrual volume, and dysmenorrhea before and during menstruation. Some patients may have spotting before and after menstruation. Patients with severe dysmenorrhea cannot be relieved even by taking painkillers. Medication is not a good way to relieve the symptoms. So what can patients with adenomyosis eat to help with the disease?

Because patients with adenomyosis have heavy menstrual flow, if things go on like this for a long time, severe cases will lead to anemia. In traditional Chinese medicine, dysmenorrhea is related to blood stasis, so the editor makes the following suggestions:

1. Eat more lean meat, chicken, eggs, quail eggs, crucian carp, turtle, white fish, cabbage, asparagus, celery, spinach, cucumber, winter melon, mushrooms, tofu, kelp, seaweed, fruits, etc.

2. Women with poor gastrointestinal function should avoid eating raw, cold foods before and during menstruation, such as cold drinks, raw cold dishes, crabs, snails, clam meat, leeches, pears, persimmons, watermelons, bananas, bitter melon, mangosteen, mung beans, cucumbers, water chestnuts, grapefruits, oranges, etc., so as to avoid cold stagnation and blood stasis which may aggravate dysmenorrhea.

3. The diet should be light and avoid eating irritating foods such as mutton, shrimp, crab, eel, salted fish, and black fish.

4. Avoid eating foods that are hot, coagulant, or contain hormones, such as longan, red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, and royal jelly.

5. Avoid spicy foods and drinks such as chili peppers, peppercorns, raw onions, raw garlic, and white wine.

6. Eat more calcium-containing foods. You can also take active calcium citrate to supplement the lack of dietary calcium.

Regarding the diet for adenomyosis, the editor believes that it is not advisable to promote blood circulation too much. You should avoid emotional instability before and after menstruation, maintain a good mood and living habits, which will have a certain effect on alleviating the symptoms.
