What are the symptoms of endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease that troubles many female friends. So, what are the symptoms of endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease in women caused by the implantation of endometrial cells in abnormal locations. Endometrial cells are supposed to grow in the uterine cavity, but because the uterine cavity is connected to the pelvic cavity through the fallopian tubes, endometrial cells can enter the pelvic cavity through the fallopian tubes and grow ectopically. There are currently many theories about the pathogenesis of this disease, among which the most widely accepted is the endometrial implantation theory.

The occurrence of endometriosis is also related to the body's immune function, genetic factors, and environmental factors. Its symptoms are:

1. Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea is the most typical symptom of endometriosis. The medical term is secondary dysmenorrhea with progressive aggravation. There is no pain at the beginning, but as time goes by, dysmenorrhea gradually appears and gradually intensifies. It can occur before, during and after menstruation. It is tolerable at the beginning, but after a few months or years, some dysmenorrhea intensifies and requires analgesics. In severe stages, the pain is unbearable and increasing the dosage of analgesics may even be ineffective.

2. Abnormal menstruation

It can manifest as excessive menstruation or irregular menstruation. Most of the abnormal menstruation is related to the impact of endometriosis on ovarian function. Patients with endometriosis may experience ovarian dysfunction, such as abnormal ovulation.

3. Infertility

Endometriosis patients are often accompanied by infertility. 40% to 50% of patients experience infertility. Reasons: Endometriosis can often cause adhesions around the fallopian tubes, affecting oocyte pickup; or ovarian lesions can affect ovulation.
