What to do if you don't have your period for 5 months

5 months of no menstruation excludes pregnancy as the cause. If it is not pregnancy, then this situation is amenorrhea, which means no menstruation for more than 3 months. Amenorrhea can be divided into two categories. One is physiological amenorrhea, which means that women have menstruation for a certain period of time due to certain physiological reasons, such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, menopause, etc. The other is pathological amenorrhea, which means that women with normal menstruation have no menstruation for three consecutive months or three menstrual cycles due to certain pathological reasons. It can generally be caused by systemic or local lesions. In this case, you should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible to find out the specific cause, and then treat it symptomatically.

The dangers of not having menstruation for 5 months:

1. Impact on pregnancy: If you do not have menstruation for a long time, it is easy to cause abnormal changes in the thickness of the endometrium and ovulation. Usually, ovulation does not occur or ovulation is rare, which may have a great impact on normal pregnancy, making pregnancy very difficult and may even lead to infertility.

2. Hormone level disorder: Future menstruation will mainly be anovulatory menstruation, and progesterone will not be formed. There is only estrogen stimulation. If estrogen stimulation is used for a long time, it may lead to excessive proliferation of the endometrium, which will not only form polyps but may even cause endometrial cancer.

3. Skin problems: If menstruation does not come, the waste menstrual blood in the body cannot be discharged for a long time, which can easily lead to dark yellow skin, spots, acne, etc.

4. Induce gynecological diseases: Menstrual blood is the shedding of female endometrium and some impurities. If these wastes cannot be discharged for a long time, they will accumulate in the woman’s uterus and may cause gynecological inflammation, and in severe cases, it may become a gynecological tumor disease.
