How to maintain after hysterectomy? Pay attention to rest and diet

The uterus is a unique organ of women. It is the key to a woman's ability to give birth to life and is vital to women. However, when a woman's life is endangered, such as uterine cancer, treatment measures must be taken. A hysterectomy may be required. After a hysterectomy, a woman will no longer have menstruation or give birth. Post-hysterectomy maintenance work must be done well. Let's take a closer look at how to maintain your uterus after a hysterectomy.

Hysterectomy that women need to undergo due to unavoidable reasons is divided into total hysterectomy and subtotal hysterectomy. Both surgeries are very harmful to the body and require a certain amount of time to recover. Hysterectomy in women can cause different physical and psychological problems in women, so postoperative maintenance work must be paid special attention to.
You should stay in bed and observe whether the wound is red, swollen, hot, painful or has abnormal secretions. It takes some time for the wound to heal after hysterectomy. You must stay in bed before healing to avoid tearing of the wound. Hysterectomy will affect the position of other organs in the abdominal cavity, so you should stay in bed to avoid rapid sagging of organs.

After the wound heals, you should get out of bed and move around in time, but you should not sit for a long time. Do not take long trips, do yoga, rhythmic dance, or other exercises that increase abdominal pressure, so as to avoid pelvic bleeding. In daily life, do not carry heavy objects, bend over to pick up objects, or climb stairs within two months. You can also use abdominal binders.

It is best not to do vaginal douching or bathing within one month. When going to the toilet, wipe from front to back to avoid infection. Sexual intercourse must be carried out after the deep tissues in the pelvic cavity have recovered. After hysterectomy, estrogen levels will drop, causing varying degrees of depression. Estrogen supplementation can be used to treat depression and anxiety. Although there are no special dietary taboos, you must eat less spicy foods such as chili peppers, and eat more foods containing protein, vitamins, iron, and high calcium, such as animal bones, dried fish, soybean fish soup, grapes, cherries, vegetables, etc.
