The difference between adenomyosis and breast cancer

What is the difference between adenomyosis and breast cancer?

First of all, breast cancer is a malignant tumor, adenomyosis is a benign disease, and breast cancer requires chemotherapy.

What are the clinical manifestations of adenomyosis?

1. Excessive menstruation: Excessive menstruation and progressive dysmenorrhea are the main manifestations. Severe dysmenorrhea is manifested as persistent lower abdominal pain, back pain, anal distension accompanied by nausea and vomiting. It often leads to infertility or anemia. Increased menstrual volume, prolonged menstrual period, easy to develop anemia, and a few may have spotting before and after menstruation. This is due to the increase in uterine volume, the increase in the area of the uterine cavity endometrium, and the ectopic endometrium between the uterine muscle walls affecting the contraction of uterine muscle fibers.

2 Pain during sexual intercourse: It is also one of the symptoms of adenomyosis. The ectopic endometrium in the pelvic cavity often forms nodular lesions in the rectouterine pouch. When the cervix collides and the uterus is lifted during sexual intercourse, it causes pain to the patient.

3. Dysmenorrhea: It is one of the symptoms of adenomyosis. Experts say that dysmenorrhea is the main symptom of adenomyosis, which occurs in about 80% of patients. Most patients present with secondary dysmenorrhea, which is progressively aggravated.

4 Cyclic signs: The patient's uterus is enlarged, spherical, and hardened. The uterus is generally no larger than the size of a 12-week pregnant uterus. During examinations near the menstrual period, the uterus will be obviously tender. If the lesion is localized, the uterus will be irregularly enlarged and the nodules will be uneven. After the menstrual period, another gynecological examination will reveal that the uterus has shrunk. This cyclical change in signs is one of the important bases for diagnosing this disease.
