Treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease

Treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease

There are two fallopian tubes on both sides of the uterus, and there are ovaries below the fallopian tubes. What we refer to as pelvic inflammation mainly refers to the inflammatory manifestations of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries, such as exudation, congestion, edema, etc., collectively referred to as pelvic inflammation.

Pelvic inflammatory disease is generally divided into two types: acute pelvic inflammatory disease and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.

The treatment of acute pelvic inflammatory disease and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is different. For patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease, the main treatment is to get more rest. If conditions permit, they can be hospitalized. They should also pay attention to eating more high-protein nutritious foods, as well as electrolyte balance and fluid replenishment. The most important thing is to use some anti-inflammatory antibiotics. For the use of antibiotics, bacterial culture and drug sensitivity tests of vaginal secretions should be done before using antibiotics. The most appropriate drugs should be selected through drug sensitivity tests. It should be noted that the dosage must be large enough and the time must be long enough. Some patients in the clinic stop using the drugs after the symptoms disappear after a few days of use. This can easily cause recurrence and even lead to the occurrence of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, so the treatment must be thorough.

In addition, Chinese medicine can choose to use the treatment of clearing heat and detoxifying, resolving phlegm, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis according to the patient's symptoms, and cooperate with Western medicine's antibacterial treatment to achieve good results.

Since the treatment course of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is relatively long, it is more complicated to treat than acute pelvic inflammatory disease. It is usually treated with Chinese comprehensive therapy, which includes Chinese oral and Chinese intravenous drip, Chinese enema, and acupuncture. In addition, it can also be combined with Chinese hot compress and ion introduction.
