Vulvar leukoplakia refers to localized or diffuse white patches that appear on the skin of women's genitals, which can spread to the inner side of the lower limbs, perineum and anus, but rarely invade the urethral opening and vestibule. The pathogenesis of vulvar leukoplakia is not yet fully understood, and may be related to systemic diseases such as diabetes, vitiligo, gene mutation, genital infection and inflammatory stimulation, and local environmental influences. Among them, the most important cause of this disease is genital infection and inflammatory stimulation. Vulvar leukoplakia caused by genital infection and inflammatory stimulation accounts for about 50% of such patients. There are many inflammatory stimuli, such as poor hygiene habits, wearing chemical fiber underwear, unclean hygiene products such as sanitary napkins, bathing in public baths, swimming in public swimming pools and other factors can all lead to female vaginitis. If not treated in time, the inflammatory secretions infiltrate the perineum, and long-term infection and stimulation will damage the skin and mucous membrane of the perineum, causing redness, swelling, ulcers and even deformation, and then gradually develop into vulvar leukoplakia. At the same time, the local environment of the vulva such as humidity, heat and other physical stimulation can also lead to the appearance of vulvar leukoplakia. Relevant studies have shown that the occurrence of vulvar leukoplakia is related to viral infection. After examination, human papillomavirus was found in the bodies of patients with vulvar leukoplakia, which also indicates that viral infection may be related to the onset of vulvar leukoplakia to a certain extent. |
