What is the description of adenomyosis on B-ultrasound?

bWhat is the super description of adenomyosis?

Typical B-ultrasound images are:

①The uniformly enlarged uterus is spherical;

② Small cystic hypoechoic reflections are mostly scattered in the myometrium;

③ Localized adenomyosis or adenomyoma is characterized by unclear boundaries between the uterine wall mass and the normal myometrium, and small cystic low-echo reflections can be seen in the myometrium, mostly on the posterior uterine wall or uterine horn.

The uterus enlarges during or before and after menstruation, then gradually shrinks, showing a cyclical change.

The main ultrasound features of patients with adenomyosis are:

1. The uterus is enlarged and spherical. In severe cases, the diameter of the uterus can reach more than 10 cm. The prone areas are mainly at the bottom of the uterus and the posterior wall of the uterus. This is related to the patient's long-term bed rest during menstruation. The blood and endometrial tissue in the uterus are easily affected by gravity.

2. The posterior wall of the uterus thickens, which can be 2-3 times thicker than the anterior wall, causing the endometrium to bulge and arch, which is also a unique ultrasound manifestation of adenomyosis.

3. Invasion of uterine myometrial tumor nodules: B-ultrasound shows that the tumor body is of different sizes, with unclear boundaries and strong echoes. The interior is a network of echo enhancement areas and scattered small cystic dark areas. If it invades the serosa, it can form multiple protruding low-echo nodules outside the serosa, which are obviously painful when touched, also known as painful nodules. The invasion range of adenomyosis is very wide. B-ultrasound shows diffuse enlargement of the uterus, thickening of the uterine wall, and strong cord-like echoes inside, scattered in small cystic dark areas.
