What causes ectopic pregnancy?

Ectopic pregnancy, also known as ectopic pregnancy, refers to the implantation and development of the fertilized egg outside the uterine cavity. There are many reasons for ectopic pregnancy, mainly including fallopian tube abnormalities, contraceptive failure, bad living habits, etc.

1. Abnormal fallopian tube: Fallopian tube inflammation, surgery, dysplasia or abnormal function may cause the fertilized egg to be unable to pass through the fallopian tube and enter the uterine cavity normally, thus implanting in the fallopian tube or other parts. In particular, fallopian tube inflammation can cause adhesion and distortion of the fallopian tube, hindering the passage of the fertilized egg.

2. Contraceptive failure: If women take contraceptive measures, such as taking birth control pills or using IUDs, it may interfere with the normal implantation process of the fertilized egg, and sometimes cause the fertilized egg to implant outside the uterine cavity.

3. Bad living habits: Bad habits such as smoking and drinking may affect the movement of fallopian tube cilia and increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy. Repeated abortions and intrauterine surgery may also damage the fallopian tube, making it easier for the fertilized egg to implant in an abnormal position.

In terms of preventing ectopic pregnancy, women should pay attention to maintaining good living habits, avoid overwork, and have regular gynecological examinations to promptly detect and treat gynecological inflammation. For confirmed ectopic pregnancy, you should seek medical attention in a timely manner and choose the appropriate treatment plan according to the doctor's advice to prevent serious consequences. Through scientific prevention and timely treatment, the incidence and harm of ectopic pregnancy can be effectively reduced.
