How to diagnose adnexitis and what tests are needed?

Adnexitis can generally be diagnosed through comprehensive judgment such as vaginal secretion examination, ultrasound examination, and magnetic resonance imaging examination.

1. Vaginal secretion examination: The formation of adnexitis is mainly related to pathogen infection, including mycoplasma infection, anaerobic bacteria infection, etc. As the number of pathogens increases, it will cause local irritation, mainly manifested as lower abdominal pain, and inflammatory exudate will also appear, leading to increased vaginal secretions. Vaginal secretion examination can be performed under the guidance of a doctor. Through this examination, we can observe whether there are pathogens in the vaginal secretions.

2. Ultrasound examination: Patients can also undergo ultrasound examination under the guidance of a doctor. Ultrasound examination can clearly image the uterus, observe whether the fallopian tube is thickened, and whether there is fluid accumulation in the lumen, which is helpful for diagnosing diseases.

3. MRI examination: MRI examination has a relatively high resolution for soft tissues. It can directly observe whether there is an inflammatory reaction in the uterine appendages, and can also observe the area and specific location of the inflammation, providing corresponding basis for further treatment.

In addition to the common examination methods mentioned above, laparoscopy is also included. If the patient is diagnosed with adnexitis after the examination, antibiotics such as cefuroxime axetil granules, cefuroxime axetil granules, and penicillin V potassium tablets can be used under the guidance of a doctor.
