How to treat acute pelvic inflammatory disease

Women with acute pelvic inflammatory disease and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease will have different symptoms. Infertile women with severe chronic pelvic inflammatory disease are likely to suffer from infertility. The most important thing for the treatment of acute pelvic inflammatory disease is to seize the opportunity and treat it in time without delaying the disease. Generally speaking, it is easier to cure.

If a woman suddenly suffers from acute pelvic inflammatory disease, she should rest in bed, preferably in a semi-recumbent position, which is conducive to the accumulation of pus and the limitation of inflammation. She should be given adequate nutrition and water, and small amounts of blood transfusions should be given when necessary. Painkillers can be used if the pain is severe.

Acute pelvic inflammatory disease can also be treated by reducing high fever and using antibiotics according to the type of infected bacteria, such as penicillin, streptomycin, chloramphenicol, chloramphenicol, etc. Antibacterial drugs should be sufficient and should be continued for two weeks after the symptoms disappear to consolidate the effect and prevent the formation of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.

There are also surgical treatments for acute pelvic inflammatory disease. If an abscess is formed and the body temperature continues to drop after 48-72 hours of drug treatment, the symptoms of poisoning worsen or the mass increases, abscess incision and drainage is performed.

If there is sudden aggravation of abdominal pain, high fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, refusal to press, or toxic shock, and suspected abscess rupture, laparotomy should be performed immediately.
