So, what is the pain of pelvic inflammatory diseases?

Pelvic inflammatory disease is an inflammation that causes a lot of discomfort to the body during the infection process, among which pain is one of the typical symptoms. It belongs to a wide range of chronic pain, extreme fatigue and some neurasthenia symptoms, among which lower abdominal pain and dysmenorrhea are the most obvious.

Most cases present with chronic diffuse pain above the auricular joint or pain in the lower abdomen on both sides, usually more severe on one side, and also involving the same side or lower limbs, especially pain and weakness in the thigh root or buttocks, starting from mid-menstrual period. A small number of patients occasionally present with acute abdominal pain, which can be easily misdiagnosed as acute appendicitis, ruptured follicles, or ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

Pelvic inflammatory disease may also cause dysmenorrhea, which is experienced by almost half of patients. It is characterized by lower abdominal pain, lumbar pain, or pelvic swelling and pain that begins a few days before menstruation, and gradually turns into spasmodic pain, which is most severe the day before or on the first day of menstruation and significantly relieved the day after menstruation.
