What causes hydatidiform mole?

What causes hydatidiform mole?

Generally speaking, hydatidiform mole is caused by nutritional factors, endocrine disorders, lack of fertilized eggs, infection factors, racial factors, etc.

Hydatidiform mole is a rare abnormal pregnancy complication. It is caused by abnormal proliferation of placental villous trophoblasts and interstitial edema after pregnancy, forming blisters of different sizes. The blisters are connected to the pedicles to form grapes, which are usually called hydatidiform mole, also known as vesicular fetal mass.

1. Nutritional factors:

Patients whose diets are deficient in vitamin A and animal fats are more likely to develop hydatidiform moles.

2. Endocrine disorders:

Molar pregnancy is likely to occur when the patient's ovarian function is abnormal or declining, mainly in women between the ages of 20 and 40.

3. Lack of fertilized eggs:

It is generally believed that the occurrence of hydatidiform mole may be related to the abnormal development of the fertilized egg itself.

4. Infection factors:

The occurrence of hydatidiform mole is generally considered to be related to viral infection.

5. Racial factors:

It is generally believed that the occurrence of hydatidiform mole is closely related to race, and there are some differences in the incidence rate.

Patients with hydatidiform mole need regular follow-up. If they feel unwell, they need to seek medical attention in time and receive treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
