How to do ovarian cystectomy and what to do after surgery

How is ovarian cyst removal performed?

1. Ovarian tumor is one of the common gynecological diseases, and its type ranks first among tumors of various organs in the body. The incidence rate of gynecological diseases is 13-23.9%, of which malignant tumors account for about 10%. Ovarian tumors can occur at any age, mostly in the reproductive age. Benign ovarian tumors mostly occur between 20 and 44 years old, and malignant ovarian tumors occur between 40 and 50 years old. Ovarian tumors can also occur in adolescence or early childhood, and are often malignant.

2. Ovarian cysts have no obvious clinical manifestations in the early stages, and patients often discover other diseases during gynecological examinations. As the tumor grows, patients will experience symptoms and signs depending on the nature, size, development, secondary degeneration or complications of the tumor.

3. Laparoscopic surgery for ovarian cyst dissection mainly uses 2-4 holes, one of which is opened on the human navel to avoid leaving a long scar in the patient's abdominal cavity. After recovery, only 1-3 linear scars of 0.5-1 cm are left in the abdominal cavity. It can be said to be a surgery with small wounds and little pain, so it is also called "keyhole" surgery. It has the advantages of short hospitalization time, less bleeding, and fast recovery.
