Is dysmenorrhea related to physical constitution?

Dysmenorrhea is generally not related to physical constitution. It is related to increased prostaglandin content in the endometrium and organic lesions.

Dysmenorrhea is divided into primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea is an increase in the content of prostaglandins in the endometrium. Lysosomal enzymes dissolve endometrial cells, releasing a large amount of prostaglandins, causing excessive contraction of uterine smooth muscle and vasospasm, leading to uterine ischemia and hypoxia, and dysmenorrhea. Secondary dysmenorrhea is caused by some organic lesions, such as endometriosis, which is caused by the growth of the endometrium outside the uterus, thus causing dysmenorrhea. It may also be caused by the invasion of endometrial glands and stroma into the myometrium. Although there are many causes of dysmenorrhea, it is generally unrelated to physical constitution. Dysmenorrhea can be improved by rest and hot compresses. If necessary, drugs such as ibuprofen capsules, mefenamic acid tablets, and ketoprofen capsules can be used.

Dysmenorrhea should be treated promptly, and standardized treatment should be received after the cause is identified. During menstruation, you should keep warm, pay attention to menstrual hygiene, and avoid eating cold and irritating foods.
