Vaginitis Vaginal skin turns white

Whitening of the vaginal skin may be caused by vaginitis, but it may also involve other conditions, such as infection, external irritation, or skin lesions, which require prompt examination to clarify the cause. If accompanied by itching, burning sensation, or abnormal discharge, it is recommended to see a doctor as soon as possible.

The most common cause of skin blanching due to vaginitis is infectious factors, such as fungal infection (Candida vaginitis), bacterial infection (bacterial vaginitis) or parasitic infection (Trichomonas vaginitis). These infections can cause local inflammation and lead to changes in the color of the mucous membrane. External factors such as long-term use of airtight hygiene products, excessive washing, chemical stimulation (such as lotions or excessive use of care products) may also cause skin damage or color changes. Certain skin problems, such as vulvar leukoplakia or white keratosis, may also cause similar symptoms. If the patient has had trauma or abnormal hormone levels, this possibility should also be considered, because insufficient hormones may cause local atrophy and white skin lesions.

To avoid vaginal skin whitening or relieve this symptom, treatment measures should be taken for the cause first. If diagnosed with candidal vaginitis, antifungal vaginal suppositories such as clotrimazole, miconazole or fluconazole (take as directed by the doctor) can be used for treatment; if it is bacterial vaginitis, metronidazole or clindamycin can be selected; metronidazole or tinidazole is usually used for Trichomonas infection. In terms of personal care, it is recommended to avoid using irritating washes and use warm water to wash the vulva; change breathable cotton underwear every day; keep the vulva dry and hygienic, and avoid using inferior sanitary napkins or pads. At the same time, to enhance immunity, you can maintain good health by consuming fruits rich in vitamin C such as oranges or grapefruits and supplementing high-quality protein such as fish or eggs every day. For symptoms that cannot be relieved by themselves, you should go to the gynecology department as soon as possible for secretion examination and even biopsy analysis to avoid missed diagnosis of serious diseases.
