What causes vulvar itching and what medicines to use is a rather broad topic, because vulvar itching has completely different causes. We will describe the most common causes: 1. Vulvovaginal candidiasis: This condition is characterized by severe vulvar itching, accompanied by dreg-like leucorrhea and some features of recurrent attacks. It can be so severe that the patient is restless and even has trouble sleeping. It requires topical application of antifungal drugs, such as Daconil and Canesten, i.e., clotrimazole tablets. If the disease recurs, oral antifungal drugs should be taken. 2. Vulvar malnutrition: It manifests as itching of the vulva. In severe cases, it can also affect sleep and the patient's quality of life. A series of local manifestations can also be seen, such as loss of pigmentation, local thickening or thinning of the skin, and atrophy and adhesion of the vulva, labia minora, labia majora, and clitoris. This is a disease that has long plagued women. It is more likely to occur in older people, and the cause has not yet been fully clarified. In terms of treatment, the first thing to do is to stop the itching. Local use of some diphenhydramine cream, vitamin A cream, vitamin E cream, etc., all have certain effects. Some doctors have also used local microwave irradiation, etc., which have also achieved certain results, but there is currently no cure; 3. Trichomonas vaginitis: There is itching but it is not very obvious, accompanied by leucorrhea with an odor and yellow color. It is usually transmitted through sexual intercourse and is relatively easy to treat. Once diagnosed with Trichomonas vaginitis, metronidazole drugs can be applied topically and tinidazole drugs can be taken orally, and the spouse needs to be treated at the same time. There are other reasons, such as vulvar allergies caused by disposable underwear or new underwear. Therefore, we recommend that newly bought underwear should be washed before use. It is recommended to wear cotton underwear and loose underwear instead of tight underwear. |
