What are the symptoms of bilateral polycystic ovaries?

What are the obvious symptoms of bilateral polycystic ovary? If a female friend suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome and cannot receive timely and effective treatment, the patient's condition will become more and more serious, which will bring other hazards or complications, thus affecting the physical health of female friends. Therefore, the treatment of this disease is very critical. What obvious symptoms will female friends have after suffering from this disease?

Bilateral polycystic ovary is a common endocrine disorder in women of childbearing age, and the age of onset is usually between 20 and 40 years old. Under normal circumstances, the ovaries play an extremely important role in the female body. Together with the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, they form an endocrine axis, secreting hormones to form unique physical signs, and can also act on the uterus to maintain normal menstruation.

If the regulation function of this endocrine axis is impaired, it will cause hormonal disorders in the body, leading to excessive secretion of androgen and abnormal estrogen in women. This vicious cycle leads to enlargement of both ovaries, thickening of the capsule, inability of follicles to mature and ovulate, formation of cysts of different sizes, polycystic ovaries, and a series of symptoms, which is called bilateral polycystic ovaries.

1. Abnormal menstruation

Patients may present with scanty menstruation, amenorrhea, or functional uterine bleeding. It usually occurs during adolescence, and is a continuation of irregular menstruation after menarche, and is sometimes accompanied by symptoms of dysmenorrhea.

2. Hairy

Many patients with bilateral polycystic ovary syndrome will have symptoms of hirsutism. The incidence rate can be as high as 69%. Because of the increase in androgen, the vellus hair on the chest, back, upper lip, mandible, middle of the lower abdomen, both sides of the upper thighs, and around the anus will become thicker and more numerous, but the degree of hirsutism is not proportional to the androgen level. At the same time, patients may also have acne, excessive facial sebum secretion, clitoral hypertrophy, low and coarse voice, Adam's apple and other signs of masculinization.

3. Infertility

Because of long-term anovulation, patients often suffer from infertility, and sometimes may experience occasional ovulation or miscarriage, the incidence of which can be as high as 74%.

What are the obvious symptoms of bilateral polycystic ovary? Although polycystic ovary syndrome is becoming more and more common, female friends should not worry too much. In daily life, as long as they can do a good job of maintaining their ovaries, actively treat various gynecological inflammations, and go to regular hospitals for regular check-ups, they can avoid this disease and keep themselves healthy.
