Is the third degree cervical erosion harmful? You must know the major hazards of the third degree cervical erosion

Among the common gynecological diseases in women, cervical erosion is the most common disease, which has a great impact on women. However, people often lack understanding of its symptoms and hazards, and easily miss the best time for treatment, which leads to the deterioration of the disease and the development of third-degree cervical erosion. What is third-degree cervical erosion?

1. Is third degree cervical erosion serious?

Cervical erosion is clinically divided into I, II, and III degrees according to the size of the cervical erosion area, and can also be divided into mild, moderate, and severe degrees. The third degree of cervical erosion is the most serious degree of cervical erosion, and the erosion area has exceeded 2/3 of the cervical surface; the third degree of cervical erosion causes infertility and greatly increases the risk of cancer.

2. Symptoms of third-degree cervical erosion

Increased leucorrhea

Increased leucorrhea is the main symptom of cervical erosion, and sometimes even the only symptom. Due to the different pathogens, as well as the scope and degree of erosion, the characteristics of leucorrhea are also different. Patients with third-degree cervical erosion will have increased leucorrhea, thick leucorrhea, and occasionally purulent or bloody leucorrhea and other abnormal phenomena.

Vulvar itching and pain

The phenomenon of cervical erosion usually occurs in the female vulva due to increased leucorrhea, causing irritation and inflammation, vulvitis, vaginitis, vaginal itching and pain. If the inflammation spreads to the main ligament, sexual intercourse pain may occur, affecting sexual life.

Irregular menstruation

There are three levels of severity of cervical erosion: mild erosion, moderate erosion and severe erosion. However, as long as cervical erosion occurs, it will affect women's menstrual cycle, menstrual volume, etc., and sometimes dysmenorrhea will occur.

Frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating

Frequent urination, urgent urination, and painful urination are also the more obvious symptoms of patients with cervical erosion. If cervical erosion is caused by cervicitis, the inflammation will extend to the female bladder, causing a certain amount of pressure, inflammation, irritating pain, and urinary tract infection.

Lumbar pain

Usually, patients will often feel back pain. When the degree of erosion is deep, it will still affect the uterus and cause chronic connective tissue inflammation. These will appear in the lumbar sacral area, causing severe pain, pelvic prolapse, bloating and pain, and sexual pain during sex.

3. The harm of third-degree cervical erosion

Cause infertility

When cervical erosion occurs, especially moderate or severe cervical erosion, cervical secretions will increase significantly, become thick in texture, and contain a large number of white blood cells. This will have an adverse effect on sperm motility, hinder sperm from entering the uterine cavity, and affect conception.

Causes miscarriage

Abortion is also one of the causes. If the abortion is not clean, a curettage is required, which will further affect the condition of cervical erosion.

Causes complications

When suffering from cervical erosion, it will cause inflammation of other organs. For example, the pathogens of cervical erosion can ascend to cause endometritis; it can spread through the parauterine ligaments and lymphatic vessels to cause chronic pelvic inflammatory disease; when the inflammation spreads to the bladder triangle, it can cause urinary system diseases and cause irritating symptoms such as urinary pain, frequent urination or difficulty urinating.

Cause cancer

When women suffer from cervical erosion, especially moderate and severe cervical erosion, the local immunity of the cervix decreases and the resistance to pathogens is weak. If effective treatment is not taken early, it is very easy to cause abnormal proliferation of lesion cells and then develop into cervical malignant lesions.

Increased risk of cervical malignancy

Cancer prevention survey data show that the incidence of cervical malignancy in women with cervical erosion is 0.73%, significantly higher than the 0.1% of women without cervical erosion. Under the stimulation of long-term chronic inflammation, the columnar epithelium derived from cervical hyperplasia may undergo atypical hyperplasia. If not treated in time, some of them will eventually develop into cancer, but this progression is relatively slow.
