What are the factors that cause cervicitis? Women have three feelings when they suffer from cervicitis.

Cervicitis is a very common cervical problem in women. Due to the particularity of the cervix, cervicitis is very harmful to the health of women and can easily affect their fertility. Therefore, we have to pay attention to it. So, how to treat cervicitis in women?

What are the factors that cause cervicitis?

1. Drug abuse: Many women have the habit of taking antibiotics and frequently using vulvar washes, which disrupt the balance of the female flora and endocrine system, and may also cause cervical infection and inflammation.

2. Vaginitis: Acute trichomoniasis, candidal vaginitis or bacterial vaginitis can also cause acute cervicitis at the same time; acute gonococcal cervicitis often occurs when there is gonococcal infection.

3. Chemical substances: including strong acids and strong alkalis. For example, flushing the vagina with acidic or alkaline solutions of high concentrations, or applying various highly corrosive drugs in the form of vaginal tablets or suppositories and inserting them into the vagina can cause vaginitis and cervicitis.

Symptoms of cervicitis

(1) Pain. Pain often occurs in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region. Sometimes the pain may occur in the upper abdomen, thighs and hip joints. It worsens during menstruation, defecation or sexual intercourse. Especially when the inflammation spreads backward along the uterosacral ligament or along the bottom of the broad ligament, chronic parauterine connective tissue inflammation is formed. The pain is even worse when the main ligament of the cervix thickens. Whenever the cervix is touched, it immediately causes pain in the iliac fossa and lumbosacral region. Some patients may even feel nausea, which affects their sexual life.

(2) Increased vaginal discharge, sometimes the only symptom of chronic cervicitis. Usually it is thick mucus or purulent mucus. Sometimes the discharge may contain blood or a small amount of blood, and there may also be contact bleeding. The irritation of vaginal discharge may cause vulvar itching.

(3) Bladder and intestinal symptoms. Chronic cervicitis can spread through the lymphatic system or directly spread to the bladder trigone or the connective tissue around the bladder. As a result, as soon as there is urine in the bladder, there is an urge to defecate, and symptoms of frequent urination or dysuria appear, but the urine is clear and the urine routine test is normal. In some cases, the inflammation continues to spread or passes through the lymphatic pathways connecting the cervix, the bladder trigone, and the ureter, causing secondary urinary tract infection. The incidence of chronic pyelonephritis in adult women is many times that of men, which may be related to this situation.

Topical treatments

It is suitable for all kinds of patients. Local treatment includes quadruple therapy - vaginal flushing with liquid medicine, ozone atomization, red light irradiation, and symptomatic medication inside the vagina. There is also vaginal flushing with liquid medicine followed by red light or microwave irradiation. There is also vaginal routine flushing followed by liquid atomization, and the use of some traditional Chinese medicine ointments that promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, remove dead tissue and promote muscle regeneration are applied to the inflamed or eroded surface, followed by red light or microwave irradiation.

Drug treatment

It is suitable for patients with small erosion area, shallow inflammation or limited conditions. Use 25% silver nitrate and other local corrosion. The vagina should be irrigated before medication, and then wiped dry with dry cotton balls, and the cotton balls should be used to protect the normal vaginal mucosa. Chinese medicine powder can also be used, but it is forbidden to use during menstruation and pregnancy. Sexual intercourse and bathing are prohibited after medication.

Physical therapy

It is currently a method with good efficacy and short treatment course for treating cervical erosion. It is suitable for cases with larger erosion surface and deeper inflammatory infiltration. Generally, only one treatment is needed to cure it.

Physical therapy should be performed within 3 to 7 days after the menstrual period ends. It is contraindicated in case of acute genital inflammation. Vaginal secretions increase after physical therapy. The vulva should be kept clean. Bathing, sexual intercourse and vaginal douching should be avoided before the wound heals (4 to 8 weeks after surgery). If cryotherapy is performed, the patient should be asked whether he has a history of heart disease before the operation, and an electrocardiogram should be performed if necessary. It is contraindicated for patients with heart disease.

How to care for cervicitis

Second, during the recovery period of cervicitis, if menstruation occurs, medication should be stopped. Sexual intercourse is prohibited, otherwise the new wound surface of the cervix will be worn and bleed, affecting the effect of treatment.
