Uterine fibroids are one of the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive organs and one of the most common tumors in the human body. They are also called fibroids and uterine fibroids. Because uterine fibroids are mainly composed of the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle cells and a small amount of fibrous connective tissue exists as supporting tissue, they are more accurately called uterine leiomyoma. Uterine fibroids. Symptoms of uterine fibroids include: 1. Menstrual changes: Most patients experience menstrual changes, with prolonged menstruation, but not necessarily a significant increase in menstrual volume; normal menstrual days and volume, but shortened cycles; or heavy menstrual volume, longer days, and shortened cycles; fibroids mainly grow under the serosa. In addition, fibroids increase the size of the uterus and affect the contraction of uterine muscle fibers, which is the reason for the increase in menstrual volume. 2. Abdominal mass: Abdominal swelling, lower abdominal swelling, accompanied by a feeling of falling. Increased leucorrhea: Leucorrhea increases, sometimes with a large amount of pus and blood discharge and slough-like tissue discharge with a foul odor. 3. Pain: Generally, patients do not have abdominal pain, but acute abdominal colic may occur when the subserosal pedicle fibroids are twisted. In addition, when the tumor undergoes degenerative changes, dull pain or more severe abdominal pain may occur. Although large uterine fibroids grow in the large pelvic cavity, they can also compress the surrounding organs and tissues to produce dull pain and a sense of falling, but fibroids between the muscle walls can produce or increase dysmenorrhea. When submucosal uterine fibroids pass through the cervical canal into the vagina, severe lower abdominal pain may occur. 4. Compression symptoms: Compression symptoms produce different symptoms due to the growth site and size of the tumor. If it grows on the posterior wall of the uterus, causing the uterus to bend backwards and move forward, or grows on the cervix, it can compress the urethra and cause urine retention or dysuria. Myomas on the posterior wall of the uterus can also compress the rectum, causing defecation difficulties. If it grows on the anterior wall of the uterus and is 10 cm in diameter or larger when it is about the size of the bladder, it will compress the bladder, causing frequent urination and urgency. People with uterine fibroids embedded in the pelvic cavity will have difficulty urinating and defecating. Large myomas growing in the broad ligament will compress the ureter, causing hydroureteral and renal pelvis. 5. Infertility: Fibroids compress the fallopian tubes and cause them to twist, or deform the uterine cavity, hindering the implantation of the fertilized egg and leading to infertility. 6. Hypoglycemia: Hypoglycemia with uterine fibroids is also rare. The main manifestations are low fasting blood sugar, loss of consciousness and shock. After glucose injection, the symptoms can completely disappear. After tumor resection, the symptoms of hypoglycemia completely disappear. Secondary anemia: If the patient has excessive menstruation for a long time, it can lead to secondary anemia, general fatigue, pale complexion, shortness of breath, palpitations and other symptoms. |
