What are the causes of uterine fibroids? Common symptoms of uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors of the female genitalia. Uterine fibroids mostly occur in middle-aged women over 30 years old. Most are asymptomatic, and a few present with vaginal bleeding, abdominal tumors, and compression symptoms. What is the cause of uterine fibroids? This is a question that many people do not understand. Let us understand the cause of the disease.

The cause of uterine fibroids is still unclear. The clinical conclusion is that uterine fibroids are related to excessive secretion of estrogen. This depends on the growth of estrogen. From the perspective of tissue occurrence, uterine fibroid cells come from smooth muscle cells of the uterine muscle and vascular wall, such as immature myoblasts, but the latter have no clear concept in histology. The occurrence of human uterine fibroids may come from the differentiation process of undifferentiated mesenchymal cells to smooth muscle cells. Multiple uterine fibroids may be due to the origin cells lurking in the myometrium. After entering sexual maturity, the undifferentiated mesenchymal cells and mature smooth muscle cells remaining in the myometrium undergo their own continuous proliferation, differentiation and hypertrophy process under the action of the estrogen and progesterone cycle, which is repeated for a long time and eventually forms a tumor.

Common symptoms of uterine fibroids:

1. Fibroids cause compression symptoms in about 30%, of which frequent urination accounts for 20%, dysuria accounts for about 10%, urinary retention accounts for 3%, urinary retention accounts for 5%, dysuria accounts for 5%, constipation accounts for 20%, and lower limb edema accounts for 6%.

2. A large amount of blood can be lost in a short period of time, leading to severe anemia. Non-periodic bleeding may occur when submucosal fibroids detach from the vagina, and the amount may be large. Large polypoid fibroids also often cause continuous bleeding.

3. Compression symptoms mainly occur in cervical fibroids, or are caused by the enlargement of fibroids in the lower part of the uterus, filling the pelvic cavity and surrounding organs. Compression of the bladder, frequent urination or difficulty urinating, urinary retention, etc.; Compression of the ureter can cause hydronephrosis and pyelitis. Fibroids growing on the posterior wall of the uterus can compress the rectum, causing constipation and even difficulty in defecation. Pelvic venous pressure can cause edema of the lower limbs. Compression symptoms are more obvious in the early stages of menstruation, which is the cause of congestion and swelling of uterine fibroids. If subserosal fibroids are embedded in the uterine rectal fossa, bladder or rectal compression symptoms will also occur.

4. Increased leucorrhea accounts for 41.9%. Enlarged uterine cavity, increased endometrial glands, pelvic congestion or inflammation can increase leucorrhea; when submucosal fibroids ulcerate, infect, bleed, or necrotize, a large amount of bloody or purulent leucorrhea will be produced.

5.30% of patients with uterine fibroids experience infertility and miscarriage. Infertility may be caused by medical reasons, such as the discovery of uterine fibroids during examination. There are many reasons for infertility caused by uterine fibroids, see the section on uterine fibroids and pregnancy
