What causes uterine fibroids? What is the connection between uterine fibroids and estrogen?

Uterine fibroids are the most common gynecological diseases in our lives. There are many patients with this disease, but many people know little about the cause of the disease. Now medical technology is very advanced. If it can be treated actively, uterine fibroids can be cured.

With the continuous updating and development of super inspection methods, many female comrades often find uterine fibroids during physical examinations or routine gynecological examinations. It is not ruled out that some patients panic due to the disease, seek medical treatment everywhere, and even break up due to conflicts. In fact, uterine fibroids are also called uterine leiomyoma and uterine fibroids. The incidence rate of women of childbearing age can be as high as 20%~30%, which can be said to be the first tumor in women.

The incidence of uterine fibroids is related to female estrogen and progesterone. For example, fibroids grow rapidly during pregnancy, and stop growing and gradually shrink after menopause; giving exogenous estrogen can accelerate the growth of fibroids. Therefore, uterine fibroids are sex hormone-dependent tumors, the most common benign tumors in female reproductive organs, and one of the most common tumors in the human body.

Most uterine fibroids are asymptomatic and are only discovered during physical examinations. However, submucosal fibroids or larger intramural fibroids may cause menorrhagia or dirty menstruation, and enlarged uterine fibroids may also cause symptoms of increased vaginal discharge or compression of adjacent organs. When the fibroids become red or the pedicles of subserosal fibroids twist, it can cause severe abdominal pain. In addition, one-third of uterine fibroids may be accompanied by infertility.

At present, there are many ways to treat the disease, but uterine fibroids are also a very difficult disease to control. Patients should also pay attention to the treatment of the disease and not miss the best treatment time. Uterine fibroids are not an incurable disease, and patients should also face the disease optimistically.
