What are the precautions after uterine fibroid surgery? Many women are physically weak after surgery, but do not know how to maintain it. Experts say: After uterine fibroid surgery, women need about 1 to 2 months of physical recovery. During this period, they should not overwork. They should pay attention to rest and avoid stimulation from tobacco and alcohol. It is forbidden to share a room within one month.

The specific recovery time after uterine fibroid surgery depends on each woman's body type, size, and location. Let's take a closer look.

Precautions for postoperative uterine fibroids:

1. After surgery for uterine fibroids, you should rest in bed for two or three days, turn over more often or do light bedside activities to promote the discharge of gas in the body and prevent bloating.

2. Observe the wound frequently and keep it dry and clean. If there is exudate, notify the medical staff to change the gauze.

3. Pay attention to exhaust and prevent intestinal adhesion. After the bowel sounds return to normal, you can eat liquid food. After the intestines recover, you should eat light food. Do not eat foods that cause bloating, such as milk and beans, and try to avoid fried, smoked, and spicy foods.

4. Do not engage in the following activities within three months: horse riding, cycling, strenuous dancing, sitting for long periods of time, or driving to avoid pelvic congestion. Avoid weight lifting within 6-8 weeks after surgery.

5. Keep the wound clean and dry. If the wound is accidentally wet, you can wipe it dry with a clean towel and change the paper tape every 3 to 6 months to prevent scar growth.

6. The vagina should not be washed within six weeks after the operation to prevent retrograde infection.

In addition to the above precautions, it is best for patients with uterine fibroids to have family members accompany them after surgery, to show more concern and encouragement to the patients, especially those undergoing total hysterectomy, as they may suffer from premature aging or psychological disorders after surgery and need more careful care.
