Can I still get pregnant after uterine fibroid surgery? How long will it take to get pregnant after uterine fibroid surgery?

Every woman wants to have her own child, but many women suffer from uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids are likely to cause infertility, which is a headache for many women. Let's see how long it takes to get pregnant after uterine fibroid surgery. I hope it will be helpful to the majority of women.

This depends on the number, size, and location of the fibroids removed.

According to the relationship between the fibroids and the uterine wall, uterine fibroids are divided into three types: intramural fibroids, subserosal fibroids, and submucosal fibroids:

1. Intramural fibroids. The most common fibroids are located in the myometrium and are surrounded by the uterine myometrium.

2. Subserosal fibroids. Fibroids grow on the surface of the uterine serosa, protrude from the surface of the uterus, and are only covered by the serosa layer.

3. Submucosal fibroids. They are relatively rare and are mostly single. The fibroids grow in the uterus, protrude into the uterine cavity, and are only covered with mucosa.

If the tumor is not large and is on the serosa, you can get pregnant 1 year after surgery; if the tumor is large and there are many, contraception will be required for more than 2 years. It should be noted that because submucosal fibroids protrude in the uterine cavity, it can easily cause infertility and miscarriage after pregnancy. If the submucosal fibroids are small, the wound during the removal surgery is small and easy to heal. If there is no abnormality after one year of observation, you can get pregnant. If the tumor is a large submucosal fibroid, even if everything is fine after the operation, it is best to consider the damage to the endometrium caused by the surgery and observe for more time.

Pregnancy is possible after uterine fibroid surgery, but it should be determined according to the patient's actual situation. Therefore, I hope that patients will take preventive and nursing measures after uterine fibroid surgery and give patients more encouragement. In this way, I believe they can get pregnant as soon as possible, which is a happy thing for the whole family.
