How are uterine fibroids usually caused? How to prevent uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are the most common benign tumors of the female genitalia. Most of them are asymptomatic, and a few of them present with vaginal bleeding, abdominal contact with the tumor, and compression symptoms. If the pedicle is twisted or other conditions occur, it will cause pain. Multiple uterine fibroids are very common, and many people wonder how uterine fibroids are caused?

How are uterine fibroids caused?

1. More abortions

If women undergo abortions frequently, their uterus will be severely damaged, making it easy for pathogens to invade, leading to uterine fibroids.

2. Bad living habits

If a woman is partial to a certain diet, is picky about food, or often eats too much, or overeats, these are all causes of uterine fibroids.

3. Not paying attention to hygiene

Because some women do not pay attention to hygiene in their daily lives, especially during menstruation, sexual life, postpartum care, miscarriage and after gynecological surgery.

4. Female age factor

According to years of clinical symptoms, women aged 40-50 have a high incidence of adenomyoma. This is due to the decline, atrophy, aging and imbalance of ovarian function, which not only leads to endometrial hyperplasia, but also spreads to the myometrium, thus inducing adenomyosis.

5. Hormonal factors

Since the incidence of adenomyosis in postpartum women is higher than that in non-postpartum women, if women have symptoms such as abnormal progesterone, it is easy for them to develop adenomyosis.

How to prevent uterine fibroids?

First, do not take too much estrogen, and pay special attention after menopause to prevent the growth of uterine fibroids.

Myomectomy can be used to preserve fertility as well as for surgical treatment.

3. Prevent excessive fatigue and pay special attention to rest during menstruation.

4. Eat more vegetables and fruits and less spicy food.

5. Keep the vulva clean and dry, and wear loose underwear. If there is too much vaginal discharge, wash the vulva at any time.

6. After being diagnosed with uterine fibroids, you should go to the hospital for monthly check-ups. If the fibroids grow slowly or not at all, you can have a check-up every six months; if they grow significantly, you should consider surgical treatment to avoid severe bleeding or compression of abdominal organs.

7. Avoid getting pregnant again. The uterus of patients with uterine fibroids will not recover well after an artificial abortion, which often causes long-term bleeding or chronic genital inflammation.

8. If your menstrual flow is heavy, you should eat more iron-rich foods to prevent iron deficiency anemia.
