Can I detect an ectopic pregnancy one month into my pregnancy?

Early detection and early diagnosis are crucial for the treatment of ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is an acute abdomen. Once ruptured, it will cause massive bleeding in the abdominal cavity. The situation is very critical, so timely diagnosis and treatment are required. At present, the main clinical diagnosis methods of ectopic pregnancy include ultrasound examination, blood HCG measurement, etc. So, can ectopic pregnancy be detected one month into pregnancy?

When you are one month pregnant, you cannot see the gestational sac, so you cannot tell whether it is an intrauterine or ectopic pregnancy. Generally, you should go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination to exclude ectopic pregnancy around 5 weeks of pregnancy. If you experience abnormal symptoms of ectopic pregnancy such as lower abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, sudden fainting, shock, etc. in early pregnancy, you should see a doctor immediately to check the cause.
Methods of checking for ectopic pregnancy
1. Blood HCG measurement: It is an important method for early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy. If the blood HCG level is lower than that of normal pregnancy after several consecutive checks, it may indicate the possibility of ectopic pregnancy, but reliable and accurate judgment still needs to be combined with B-ultrasound examination.
2. Ultrasound diagnosis: B-type ultrasound examination is particularly commonly used for the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy. Vaginal B-type ultrasound examination is more accurate than abdominal B-type ultrasound examination. It can understand whether it is a normal intrauterine pregnancy and rule out the possibility of abnormal pregnancy.
3. Laparoscopic examination: In most cases, early ectopic pregnancy can be diagnosed after medical history, gynecological examination, blood β-HCG measurement, and B-ultrasound examination. However, for some cases that are more difficult to diagnose, examination under direct laparoscope can provide a clear diagnosis in time and surgical treatment can be performed at the same time.
Once an ectopic pregnancy ruptures, there will be tearing pain on one side of the lower abdomen, which may also be accompanied by heavy vaginal bleeding. The situation is very critical and cannot be ignored. The treatment of ectopic pregnancy is mainly surgery. While correcting shock, laparotomy and removal of the diseased fallopian tube are performed. If the purpose is to preserve fertility, the fallopian tube can also be cut to remove the fertilized egg.
