Is uterine fibroid a benign tumor? Hysterectomy may be performed depending on the situation

The formation of uterine fibroids is often related to weak vital energy and imbalance of qi and blood. If qi stagnation and blood stasis accumulate for a long time, it may become uterine fibroids. So are uterine fibroids benign tumors? Do I need to have my uterus removed?

Uterine fibroids are generally hormone-dependent benign tumors. Women who eat too much high-fat food, are overweight, take hormone drugs and health products for a long time, and use cosmetics containing estrogen can all lead to the accumulation of small doses of estrogen in the body, which is the main cause of uterine fibroids. Compared with 20 years ago, the high-incidence age of uterine fibroids in women has been advanced from 40 to 35 years old. Uterine fibroids may be single or multiple at the same time.

Do I need to have my uterus removed for uterine fibroids? Traditionally, uterine fibroids are treated surgically. For those without symptoms, conservative treatment is not recommended, and observation and regular follow-up are performed.

Those with obvious symptoms should be surgically removed, such as menorrhagia, irregular vaginal bleeding that has caused anemia, pain or urinary retention caused by enlarged fibroids, fibroids larger than a 3-month pregnancy, pedunculated fibroids under the mucosa that protrude from the cervical opening, uterine fibroids that affect normal sexual life, pedunculated fibroids that metastasize or become infected, masses in the pelvic cavity, unclear diagnosis, etc. The extent of the removal should be determined based on the specific condition.

If there are serious symptoms, a total hysterectomy can be used. If unmarried or married young women without children want to keep their uterus, they should be treated with caution and discretion. According to the patient's condition, the location and size of the fibroids, conservative treatment should be adopted as much as possible. Generally, hysterectomy is not allowed, sometimes in order to avoid permanent infertility caused by the growth of fibroids. Myomectomy can be performed early to keep the uterus.

Uterine fibroids are not terrible. Everyone can get through the disease smoothly. The following medicines have significant effects on uterine fibroids: Guizhi Fuling Pills: used for women with lumps, blood stasis and amenorrhea, abdominal pain during menstruation, and postpartum lochia retention; Guizhi Fuling Capsules: used for women with lumps, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, and postpartum lochia retention caused by blood stasis blocking the collaterals.
