Adnexitis is a common gynecological disease that is very familiar to female friends. According to the severity of the disease, it is divided into acute adnexitis and chronic adnexitis. Female friends must not underestimate the harm and impact of this disease. We must fully understand and know the disease of adnexitis. Let's talk about what is adnexitis in detail. Among the female internal reproductive organs, the fallopian tubes and ovaries are called adnexa. Adnexitis refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. However, fallopian tube and oophoritis are often accompanied by parametrial connective tissue inflammation and pelvic peritonitis, and are difficult to distinguish during diagnosis. Among pelvic organ inflammations, fallopian tube inflammation is the most common. Due to the proximity of anatomical sites, fallopian tube inflammation, oophoritis, and pelvic peritonitis often coexist and affect each other. Acute adnexitis is mainly characterized by acute lower abdominal pain, accompanied by fever. During gynecological examination, there is obvious tenderness and rebound pain in the adnexal area. Routine blood tests show an increase in white blood cell count and a significant increase in the proportion of neutrophils. If acute adnexitis is not treated in time or thoroughly, it can turn into chronic adnexitis. Chronic adnexitis causes varying degrees of abdominal pain. Chronic inflammation recurs over time, causing pelvic congestion, connective tissue fibrosis, and adhesions of pelvic organs. Patients experience symptoms such as lower abdominal distension, pain, and lumbar pain, which can be mild or severe, accompanied by increased leucorrhea, back pain, and menstrual disorders, which often worsen during menstruation or after fatigue. During gynecological examination, there is tenderness, thickening, or tender masses in the bilateral or unilateral adnexal area, and the white blood cell count is elevated or normal. Some symptoms are not very obvious at times, but because the fallopian tubes and ovaries are adjacent, it is difficult to distinguish when inflammation occurs. Especially chronic inflammation of the fallopian tubes, over time, can lead to fibrosis, thickening, and obstruction of the fallopian tubes, and can also adhere to surrounding tissues. The harm and impact caused by adnexitis to patients are by no means as simple as we imagined. If not treated for a long time, it can lead to blockage of the fallopian tubes and cause female infertility. Therefore, we must pay enough attention to this disease, maintain good hygiene and pay attention to physical health to avoid the disease. |
