Is the cure rate of coagulation dysfunction in abortion high?

In China, the incidence of habitual miscarriage has reached 5%, half of which is caused by coagulation dysfunction. Functional disorders of miscarriage are due to the nutrient exchange between the embryo and the mother. Oxygen and nutrients will penetrate into the fetus through blood vessels. Once the mother reaches a hypercoagulable state, the blood flow in the blood vessels will be slow or even insufficient, causing the fetus to die of hypoxia. Habitual miscarriage caused by coagulation disorders is becoming more and more common. So can smooth coagulation dysfunction be cured?

Expert analysis: Coagulation disorder is the main cause of habitual miscarriage

From the analysis of clinical symptoms, there are three main common causes of habitual miscarriage: First, anatomical reasons. For example, the uterine morphology has changed, such as unicornuate uterus, uterine septum, and double uterus. However, this situation does not occur often, accounting for about 7%.

The second reason is immune reason, that is, anti-sperm antibodies and endometrial antibodies account for about 10%.

Third, coagulation disorder. This is the most common cause seen in clinical practice, accounting for almost 50%. Experts say that this is a cause that is currently ignored by most hospitals, and even many reproductive centers do not conduct examinations in this regard.

So, what exactly is a coagulation disorder? Experts explain that the manifestations of habitual abortion patients are platelet aggregation, strong adhesion ability, and hypercoagulation. Because the embryo and the mother exchange nutrients, nutrients, oxygen, etc. will penetrate into the fetus through small blood vessels. Once the mother is in a hypercoagulable state, the blood flow in these small blood vessels will slow down or even be blocked, resulting in hypoxia and ischemia of the embryonic villi and fetus and death.

Surprisingly, young people with coagulation disorders have no other symptoms except continuous miscarriage, and coagulation function tests also need to be performed at a specific time. Experts say that this test should be done during the patient's luteal phase, which is the estimated period of embryo implantation, because coagulation disorders are closely related to the cyclical fluctuations of female sex hormones. At this time, female estrogen and progesterone levels are relatively at their peak. If the patient is not tested during this period, it is difficult to find the cause.

Habitual abortion is related to coagulation disorder

Immunotherapy has been terminated in some countries and regions

Since immune factors are not the main cause of habitual miscarriage, why do some patients successfully become pregnant and give birth to babies through immunotherapy? Experts analyzed that this is because the biological preparations of immunotherapy contain heparin, which can directly adjust the coagulation function. Four injections of immune drugs are equivalent to one month of anticoagulation treatment. Therefore, habitual miscarriage patients with abnormal coagulation function are cured by immunotherapy. However, this is not the credit of immunotherapy, but the effect of heparin!

Randomized controlled studies have found that immunotherapy has limited effects and cannot improve the condition of most patients. It also prolongs the waiting time for patients and increases the cost of treatment. Experts say that immunotherapy usually takes several months or even half a year. Some women of "quasi-childbearing age" (35 years old) are close to 40 years old after multiple immunotherapy treatments, and it is even more difficult to get pregnant at that time.

Patients with habitual miscarriage caused by coagulation disorders can take anticoagulants (such as aspirin) for a one-month review period, and generally recover in three months, which greatly shortens the patient's waiting period and reduces the burden of treatment. At the same time, the success rate of anticoagulant treatment is close to 90%, and the rate of preserving pregnancy is more than 92%. The cure rate of coagulation dysfunction caused by miscarriage is quite high. I hope it will be helpful to you. Finally, I wish you a healthy baby soon!
