Effects of hyperprolactinemia in pregnant women on the fetus

There are many reasons for infertility. After the examination, it was found that it was hyperprolactinemia infertility. Even many patients do not know what hyperprolactinemia is? Children are the fruit of love, and having your own children is the wish of every couple. So, what are the specific reasons for hyperprolactinemia infertility? Let's take a look at the expert's explanation.

Two-thirds of infertility is caused by female fallopian tube obstruction, which has always been the main reason. However, since the general attention has been paid to infection prevention and the advent of broad-spectrum antibiotics, obstetric and gynecological inflammation that causes fallopian tube obstruction has been greatly reduced. On the other hand, the understanding of endocrine diseases and the continuous progress of examination technology have led to an increase in the diagnosis rate of infertility caused by ovarian insufficiency, so ovarian infertility also occupies an important position.

Prolactin, also known as prolactin, is one of the hormones secreted by the pituitary gland. Women secrete prolactin in large quantities during the late pregnancy and lactation period to promote breast development and lactation. The highest level of prolactin in the serum of non-pregnant women generally does not exceed 20 ng/ml. If the level of prolactin in the blood is too high, it is called hyperprolactinemia. These people often have symptoms of breast tenderness, galactorrhea, scanty menstruation or even amenorrhea. Therefore, it is sometimes called galactorrhea-amenorrhea syndrome.

When there is too much prolactin in the body, it can inhibit the secretion of gonadotropin from the pituitary gland and directly affect the synthesis of sex hormones in the ovaries, causing low serum estrogen levels, thereby causing ovarian dysfunction, decreased ovulation, or anovulation and galactorrhea, or even amenorrhea, leading to infertility.

The above is the real reason for infertility caused by hyperprolactinemia. If you have hyperprolactinemia, you must have enough awareness. While actively receiving treatment, patients with hyperprolactinemia must also do a good job of caring for them, especially psychological care.
