Can cervical warts be cured?

There are some women in life who do not have unclean private lives. They go back and forth between home, work and the road every day. However, this does not prevent genital warts from coming to them. Cervical genital warts are a very distressing disease for many women nowadays, and they don’t know why they suffer from this disease. No matter what the reason is, only by finding the right treatment method can they get rid of the pain. So, can cervical genital warts be cured? They each have their own indications, and the cure rate is between 50% and 90%. Let’s take a closer look at these treatments.

Treatment of cervical warts

Cryotherapy: It is a commonly used treatment method in dermatology. It uses liquid nitrogen or carbon dioxide dry ice to freeze skin lesions, causing local edema and necrosis of the skin lesions to achieve the purpose of treatment. Cervical condyloma acuminatum is caused by infection with condyloma acuminatum virus, which leads to benign hyperplasia of the skin and mucous membranes. It has a large number of small blood vessels and proliferates rapidly. The freezing method can freeze the cervical condyloma acuminatum, forming a high degree of local edema of the tissue, thereby destroying the wart. The biggest advantage of cryotherapy is that it leaves no local marks, and the cure rate is about 70%.

Laser treatment: It is a commonly used method for treating cervical condyloma acuminatum in the dermatology and venereology department. It is characterized by rapid effect, and the warts can fall off at the time of treatment. Carbon dioxide laser is commonly used to burn the warts, and generally the warts can fall off in one treatment. However, due to the fact that the laser beam is too concentrated, laser treatment is only suitable for cervical condyloma acuminatum with small warts. If the warts are large, laser treatment is likely to cause recurrence.

Surgical treatment: Surgical excision is generally not recommended for cervical condyloma acuminatum, because after surgical treatment, cervical condyloma acuminatum is easy to recur, making the treatment fail. However, surgical excision can be considered for larger warts with pedicles. For some patients, condyloma acuminatum grows too fast or is as big as cauliflower, and other treatments are very difficult, so surgical treatment can be considered. To prevent recurrence, other treatments should be combined after surgery.
