Ectopic pregnancy is also called ectopic pregnancy. Under normal circumstances, the fertilized egg migrates from the fallopian tube to the uterine cavity and then slowly develops into a fetus. However, due to various reasons, the fertilized egg goes wrong during the migration process and does not reach the uterus but stays somewhere else to form an ectopic pregnancy. There are several factors that can cause ectopic pregnancy. 1. Repeated abortion Repeated abortions can cause serious damage to the endometrium, and long-term use can cause ectopic pregnancy. The more abortions you have, the greater the chance of an ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, it is very important for women to do a good job of contraception, which is helpful in preventing ectopic pregnancy. 2. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, especially salpingitis, is an important factor in the development of ectopic pregnancy, because salpingitis can narrow the lumen of the tube, making it difficult for the fertilized egg to enter the uterine cavity, and it may be retained in the fallopian tube or ovary, resulting in ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, reducing the occurrence of pelvic inflammatory disease can reduce the incidence of ectopic pregnancy. 3. Fallopian tube inflammation About 60% of patients with tubal pregnancy have a history of salpingitis. If salpingitis is not effectively treated for a long time, repeated attacks will cause adhesion of the tubal mucosal folds, narrowing of the lumen, damage to the cilia, or twisting of the fallopian tube due to adhesion to the surrounding tissues due to inflammation, and inability to move normally, which will prevent the fertilized egg from reaching the uterine cavity as scheduled and implanting smoothly. 4. Migrant ovum When one ovary ovulates, but fertilization migrates to the opposite fallopian tube, it is called a migratory ovum. As the ovum continues to move, it is also in the process of growing and getting bigger. If the opposite fallopian tube has a disease, the ovum cannot pass through the fallopian tube, and a tubal pregnancy may occur. |
