Brief analysis of the symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia at different stages

The symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia are different at different stages, and the treatment of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia should be divided into different types. What are the common symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia ? The following is a brief introduction to the common symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia.

In general, the common symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia are:

Stage I: At this time, the main symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia are not obvious. Some patients with atrophic vulvar leukoplakia have mild itching, no white lesions appear, and the vulva has atrophy that is not easily detected by the naked eye.

Stage II: The typical symptoms of stage II atrophic vulvar leukoplakia are mild atrophy of the vulva, usually starting from the labia majora, minora, and clitoris. The labia majora and minora have reduced elasticity, fewer or no wrinkles on the surface, and relatively mild vulvar pruritus. Due to atrophy, there may be dryness of the vulva and discomfort during sexual intercourse. The vulvar skin has localized hypopigmentation, which is multiple or flaky.

Stage III: At this stage, the symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia are severe. The labia majora of the vulva are flat, the labia minora disappear, and the clitoris shrinks and becomes smaller or adheres. The urethral opening atrophies, and in severe cases, urinary incontinence occurs. The vaginal opening atrophies, and sexual life becomes difficult. Some patients with atrophic vulvar leukoplakia also have anal leukoplakia and atrophy, causing the skin around the anus to have no wrinkles, reduced elasticity, and anal fissures during defecation. About 50% of patients with atrophic vulvar leukoplakia have large areas of hypopigmentation on the vulvar skin.

The above is an introduction to the common symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Once the symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia appear, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid serious delays in the disease.
