Will cervical warts last long?

Are cervical warts fatal? Many people would say that the greatest harm caused by sexually transmitted diseases to the human body is skin lesions, which do not endanger life. In fact, this depends on the degree of development of the disease. For sexually transmitted diseases such as cervical warts that are prone to recurrence, once the disease is not treated for a long time, it will develop into a malignant tumor and even cancer. In this case, it will endanger the patient's life and health, and the consequences are very serious.

The reason why many people do not understand the harmfulness of cervical warts is that the disease is mild in the early stage and there are no symptoms. This creates a false impression for patients. Once the sexually transmitted disease develops to a certain extent, it may become cancerous, such as malignant tumors, uterine cancer, etc. The disease can be transmitted through direct sexual contact. Two-thirds of people who have sexual contact with patients with cervical warts will be infected, and the disease is most contagious within 3 months; indirect infection will occur when contacting items contaminated by the patient's secretions, such as underwear, bathtubs, towels, etc.; cervical warts can also be transmitted to newborns through the birth canal during delivery or direct contact with sick parents after birth. If not treated in time and effectively, some patients may develop abnormal cell precancerous lesions or cancer after a period of time. Studies have shown that 15% of cancers, 5% of vulvar cancers and a considerable number of anal cancers occur on the basis of long-term lesions of cervical warts.

Since the etiology of cervical condyloma is relatively complicated, there is no specific medicine for its treatment. Patients need to have confidence in long-term cure and continuous treatment to gradually relieve the pain. Commonly used methods include drug maintenance and surgical treatment, such as freezing and laser, but they often leave great trauma. The recurrence rate after the first treatment is as high as 74%. Therefore, when removing the exogenous warts, treatment should be continued for a period of time to prevent recurrence. For those who have recurred multiple times and have rapidly enlarged in a short period of time, especially those with ulcers and foul odor on the surface, pathological examination should be carried out as soon as possible to rule out the possibility of malignant transformation.

Are cervical warts fatal?

To sum up, as long as effective treatment measures are taken in time, the symptoms of cervical warts can be alleviated and are not fatal. However, if the treatment is neglected and there is a fluke mentality, the condition will rapidly worsen. In this case, it will be particularly difficult to recover as soon as possible. Early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment are the basis of cure.
