Can thick endometrium be treated?

The appearance of thick endometrium brings great pain to patients. For example, dysmenorrhea is a common phenomenon, which seriously reduces the quality of life. If the disease continues to develop, it will also cause symptoms such as urgency and frequent urination, making treatment more difficult. Therefore, thick endometrium must be actively treated. So, can thick endometrium be treated?

Conservative treatment of endometrial thickness: Endometrial thickness can be treated with medication, which can shrink the endometrial lesions and relieve symptoms. The purpose of medication to treat endometrial thickness is to inhibit ovarian function and induce atrophy of the thick endometrium. Most medications are hormonal, but the disadvantage is that they cannot be completely cured and the side effects are often large.

Radiotherapy: Radiotherapy has been used to treat endometrial thickening for many years, but the purpose of radiotherapy is to destroy ovarian tissue, thereby eliminating the effects of ovarian hormones and shrinking the thick endometrium. However, radiotherapy is very prone to recurrence, so this treatment method is not suitable for long-term treatment.

If the endometrium grows outside the uterine cavity, it will cause various common symptoms, which is medically called endometrial thickness. If not treated properly, it will cause dysmenorrhea or chocolate cysts in women, and in more serious cases, even infertility. Therefore, it is very necessary to treat endometrial thickness.

Gynecological experts say that endometrial thickening is not cancer and is not life-threatening, but it has the same symptoms as some malignant diseases and is very likely to recur, seriously endangering women's physical and mental health. Therefore, it is important to choose the right treatment method.
