How to diagnose Bartholinitis

How to diagnose Bartholinitis

Many people are very worried about the discovery the day before yesterday. When this disease occurs, it will also cause pain in the patient's labia, which directly and seriously affects the patient's life. Usually, everyone needs to pay attention to the symptoms of this disease to avoid burning of the vulva and grow up as soon as possible. What are the common diagnostic methods for Bartholinitis?

Diagnosis: The diagnosis is not difficult based on the medical history and clinical manifestations. This disease has several typical characteristics.

1. Local swelling, pain, burning sensation, and difficulty walking. Symptoms of Bartholinitis Acute Bartholinitis first invades the gland duct, presenting with acute suppurative inflammatory changes, with local redness, swelling, heat, and pain. Sometimes there is a feeling of heaviness and difficulty in urination and defecation, as well as systemic symptoms such as increased body temperature and increased white blood cell count. The gland duct opening is often blocked due to swelling or coagulation of exudate, and the pus cannot flow out to form an abscess, which is called Bartholin's gland abscess. There may be a sense of fluctuation locally, and when the pressure in the abscess cavity increases due to swollen inguinal lymph nodes, it may rupture on its own. If the rupture is large and the drainage is unobstructed, the inflammation can subside and heal quickly. If the rupture is small and the drainage is not smooth, it may recur, often making the patient restless when walking.

2. Physical examination: local skin redness, swelling, fever, and tenderness are obvious; there is a sense of fluctuation when the abscess is formed; the abscess ruptures spontaneously and pus flows out. Severe cases may be accompanied by systemic symptoms, such as elevated white blood cells.

3. Auxiliary examination: secretions can be taken from the opening of the Bartholin's glands, the urethral orifice, and the paraurethral glands for smear and bacterial culture (including anaerobic culture) to check for pathogens, and drug sensitivity tests can be performed to guide treatment.

Understand the symptoms and carry out effective treatment according to the patient's own condition to avoid causing more impact. Usually we need to pay attention to the patient's physical health and pay more attention to rest to avoid local redness and swelling, which will make the patient more painful. Usually we need to pay attention to our own conditioning methods.
