How does Bartholinitis occur?

This article describes the basic knowledge of Bartholin's glands. Based on the medical history, local appearance and digital examination, it is generally not difficult to diagnose. However, attention should also be paid to whether there are any abnormalities in the urethral opening and paraurethral glands. Due to severe pain, vaginal speculum examination is no longer possible. If it is not necessary, it can be temporarily suspended. Generally, secretions from the opening of the Bartholin's glands, the urethral opening, and the paraurethral glands should be taken for smear examination of pathogens.

After the acute phase of Bartholinitis, due to obstruction of the glandular duct opening, the glandular secretory fluid cannot be discharged and is retained, forming a Bartholin's gland cyst.

Some patients asked if Bartholinitis is related to STDs? Bartholinitis is a common external genital disease in women. People often know that this disease is an infectious disease, but they do not pay special attention to the relationship between this disease and STDs. For some people with long-term Bartholinitis, they do not undergo STD examinations, delaying the best treatment time. In fact, due to the increase in STD patients in recent years, complications are constantly increasing. The most common complication in female patients is Bartholinitis. So this disease is related to STDs.

In the acute stage, antibiotics can be injected intramuscularly or orally, bed rest, local hot compresses, sitz baths or heat therapy can be used. After the abscess is formed, an arc-shaped incision can be made on the inner side of the labia majora where the fluctuation is obvious to drain the pus. Antibiotics and Chinese herbal medicines can also be used for local treatment.

Through the basic understanding of vestibular glanditis, we can formulate an effective preventive measure: pay attention to hygiene, change underwear frequently, keep the vulva clean and dry. Do not scratch the local area or squeeze the abscess. During the onset of the disease, drink plenty of water and avoid spicy food. Do not have sexual intercourse before recovery.
