Can uterine cold cause adenomyosis?

Winter is a cold season, and many women will feel cold hands and feet, and feel that they are not hot anyway. This may be related to uterine coldness and the symptoms of adenomyosis are similar. So will uterine coldness cause adenomyosis?

In the field of traditional Chinese medicine, adenomyosis has always been classified as dysmenorrhea and irregular menstruation. It is believed that adenomyosis is caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis, phlegm and dampness, uterine coldness and other reasons. Therefore, traditional Chinese medicine treatment often aims to warm the yang kidney, warm the meridians and dispel cold, promote blood stasis, and promote fertility. It adopts comprehensive diagnosis and treatment and conditioning such as oral Chinese medicine, umbilical cord acupuncture, and hot compress with medicine.

Generally speaking, TCM treatment of adenomyosis can alleviate symptoms such as dysmenorrhea and menstrual disorders to a certain extent, but since it cannot eliminate the lesions of adenomyosis, it cannot achieve the effect of treating adenomyosis.

So how do you check for adenomyosis?

1. Imaging examination

This is the most effective means of diagnosing this disease before surgery. Vaginal ultrasound examination has a sensitivity of 80% and a specificity of 74%, which is more accurate than abdominal probes. Adenomyosis B has an increased uniformity of the uterus and uneven echoes; adenomyoma B has an unevenly enlarged uterus, localized protrusions, and uneven echoes of the lesions. Objective understanding of the location and extent of the lesion before MRI surgery is very helpful in determining the treatment method. Diffuse adenomyosis MRI shows diffuse thickening of the uterine junction zone on T2WI; localized adenomyosis shows a low-signal mass shadow similar to the signal on T2WI with blurred boundaries.

2. Serum CA125

The elevated serum CA125 level in some patients with adenomyosis has certain value in monitoring the therapeutic effect.

If you have a cold uterus, you may not have adenomyosis, so don't treat adenomyosis as a cold uterus to avoid misunderstanding the condition. If you find any abnormalities, you should go to the hospital for examination in time and treat it under the guidance of a doctor!
