How Bacterial Vaginosis is Spread

Fungal vaginitis is caused by fungal infection. Young girls and adolescent girls are most likely to become innocent victims of indirect infection. The vaginal mucosa of girls is columnar epithelial tissue, which is thin and tender and lacks estrogen. The vaginal epithelial cells lack glycogen, and their mucus secretions are different from those of adults. They lack vaginal bacteria and cannot maintain the proper acidity in the vagina, making them very susceptible to fungal infection.

How are vaginal candidiasis transmitted?

Fungal vaginitis refers to vaginitis caused by fungi. The pathogen is caused by Diplococcus, which can be transmitted through unclean or chaotic sexual intercourse. A few cases are also indirectly transmitted by wearing swimsuits infected with fungi or bathtubs and toilets contaminated with fungi. Its symptoms include lower abdominal pain, increased vaginal discharge, purulent leucorrhea, redness, swelling and pain at the vaginal opening, etc. If not treated in time, it can turn into chronic gynecological inflammation. Ten percent of women may experience infertility or ectopic pregnancy.

Vaginal candidiasis can be transmitted through unclean or chaotic sexual intercourse or sexual intimacy, and its incubation period is 4 to 7 days. If not treated in time, it will turn into a chronic disease and cause cervicitis, salpingitis and pelvic inflammatory disease. Twenty percent of women may experience infertility or ectopic pregnancy. In addition, when a newborn is delivered, the fungus can directly infect the eyes of the newborn when passing through the vagina of the mother with vaginal candidiasis, causing conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcer perforation, and even blindness.
