Prevention of exercise-induced amenorrhea

Prevention of exercise-induced amenorrhea

Young female athletes who experience amenorrhea during sports competitions or intense training are called "sports-induced amenorrhea". Some young women may also experience amenorrhea when traveling or during intense work and study. The pathogenesis is similar to this disease and can also be treated with reference to sports-induced amenorrhea. This disease is often related to excessive mental stress, which leads to endocrine dysfunction. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that due to excessive mental stress, the movement of Qi is disordered, the Chong and Ren meridians are dysfunctional, and the blood sea cannot be filled. So, how to prevent sports-induced amenorrhea?

Prevention of exercise-induced amenorrhea

People with weak constitutions should eat more foods that are nutritious and nourishing, and that can replenish blood and promote blood circulation, such as eggs, milk, jujube, longan, walnut, mutton, etc. For amenorrhea caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis, you can eat more crystals that can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, such as ginger, jujube, brown sugar, etc. You can boil brown sugar in water and drink it instead of tea, or take safflower wine orally, etc. For amenorrhea caused by extreme emaciation, special attention should be paid to changing eating habits, eliminating the mentality of refusing to eat, strengthening the comprehensive supply of nutrition, improving the body's nutritional status, and restoring the body to normal. In short, comprehensive and reasonable nutrition can promote the physical and physiological development of adolescent women, enhance their physical fitness, and play a positive role in preventing and treating amenorrhea.

Causes of exercise-induced amenorrhea

The disease is often related to excessive mental stress, which leads to endocrine dysfunction. If there are no discomfort symptoms, there is no need for treatment, and menstruation will come naturally once the tension is relieved. When there are discomfort symptoms, and the tension has been relieved for a long time but menstruation has not come, active treatment should be given.

Exercise-induced amenorrhea is a type of hypothalamic amenorrhea, which is the body's response to strong external stimulation. Vigorous exercise is a strong stress, and the body produces adrenocorticotropic hormone-releasing hormone under stress, which activates the sympathetic nervous system and stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete stress hormones. The adrenocorticotropic hormone-releasing hormone inhibits the secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone in the hypothalamus, resulting in a decrease in gonadotropin secretion, causing amenorrhea.
