Diagnosis and treatment of viral cervicitis

Diagnosis and treatment of viral cervicitis

Viral cervicitis has a particularly great impact on the patient's body and needs to attract the patient's attention. So, what are the treatments for viral cervicitis?

Data show that in clinical practice, the treatment of viral cervicitis is often accompanied by vaginitis, while the treatment of another common pathogen, metritis, is easier than that of viral cervicitis.

Experts from the Gynecological Hospital pointed out that the herpes simplex virus is divided into two types. Type 4 mostly causes herpes around the mouth, and type 5 mostly causes inflammation of the reproductive tract. If it causes inflammation of the cervix, it is called viral cervicitis.

Viral cervicitis is often complicated with vaginitis, which is mostly caused by sexual intercourse with men with viral infection; it may also be an indirect infection. After viral infection, it takes 3 to 7 days for the disease to develop. After the first infection, there are obvious general discomfort, fatigue, low fever, headache, etc.

During gynecological examination, the vulva, vagina, and cervix may be red and swollen with pain. Scars or ulcers may form on the surface of the cervix. Scars are usually not left after the lesions heal. The course of the disease can last up to 6 weeks. After the initial infection of the herpes virus, the virus may lurk in the lesions and remain in the dorsal root of the ganglion for a long time until the next attack. If the disease recurs for the second time, the condition is generally milder than the first time.

At present, the diagnosis of this disease is generally based on the patient's symptoms and signs; on the other hand, the secretions are taken for virus isolation, or more advanced DNA detection methods are used. The treatment method is mainly local medication, and at the same time, attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the vulva, especially to avoid sexual intercourse temporarily to avoid cross infection.

In addition, when viral cervicitis is serious, you must go to a regular professional hospital for treatment. Do not waste time. Not only will it delay the disease, but it will also further damage your health.
