Dietary principles after artificial abortion

After an artificial abortion, it is necessary to make reasonable arrangements for the quantity, quality and mutual combination of various foods to meet the body's needs for protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, inorganic salts, water and cellulose.

To promote recovery after artificial abortion, dietary adjustments should focus on the following points:

Good food

Food selection should be nutritious and easy to digest and absorb. ① Protein is an important component of the human body. If it is not consumed enough, the body's resistance will be reduced. Within half a month after artificial abortion, 1.5-2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight (100-150 grams/day) should be given. You can eat more fresh fish, tender chicken, lean pork, eggs, animal liver and blood, milk, beans and their products. ② After artificial abortion, the body is weak and often sweats easily. Water should be replenished in small amounts and multiple times to reduce water evaporation: more water-soluble vitamins are excreted in sweat, especially vitamin C and vitamin B. You should eat more jujubes, lotus seeds, fresh vegetables and fruits. This is also helpful to prevent constipation. ③ On the basis of a normal diet, appropriately limit fat (fat should be controlled at 80 grams/day within 1 week after surgery).

Avoid food

Do not eat or eat less greasy, raw and cold food: Avoid eating radish, hawthorn, bitter melon, orange and other qi-regulating and blood-activating, cold foods. People with menstrual disorders should avoid eating irritating foods, such as chili peppers, wine, vinegar, pepper, ginger, etc. These foods can stimulate congestion of sexual organs and increase menstrual volume. Avoid eating crabs, snails, clams and other cold foods.

Replenishment time

The appropriate time for nourishing is half a month. Those who are usually weak, have poor physical condition, or have lost a lot of blood can extend the nourishing time as appropriate.
